Before you shoot

Face the camera straight on with a neutral expression, mouth closed.
Even light on the face, no shadows across it and none behind you on the wall.
No sunglasses; clear glasses only if the eyes show without glare (many routes now ask for none).
No hats or head coverings except religious wear, and the full face must stay visible.
Plain light background: stand about half a metre in front of it to avoid shadows.
