The Department confirms Critical Skills applications never need the 28-day labour market needs test.
Sponsor a shortage-occupation hire with no labour market test and a 21-month route to Stamp 4.
Entry 01 · registered
We confirm the role is on the Critical Skills Occupations List, verify the salary clears the applicable floor, and check the qualification match so nothing surfaces later as a refusal ground.
Entry 02 · registered
We collect the signed two-year job offer, the employee's degree or evidence of relevant qualifications, and your CRO and Revenue documentation, then build and quality-check the application inside EPOS.
Entry 03 · registered
We lodge the application and the EUR 1,000 fee with DETE and respond to every query on your behalf, tracking the case against the published processing dates.
Entry 04 · registered
On grant we guide the hire through the entry visa where required, arrival, and IRP registration, and start immediate family reunification.
Entry 05 · registered
We diarise the 21-month milestone and prepare the direct Stamp 4 application to ISD, so the employee moves off the permit and stays without further sponsorship.

Yes. Spouses and dependants can join immediately, and spouses or de facto partners can access the Irish labour market on their own permission, which is a strong recruitment advantage.
No. Critical Skills roles are exempt from the labour market needs test, so there is no 28-day advertising period. That is the single biggest time saving over the General Employment Permit route.
After 21 months of employment, counted from the commencement date on the Revenue Employment Detail Summary, the holder applies directly to ISD for Stamp 4 and can stay without an ongoing permit. The old DETE support letter was discontinued on 30 November 2023, so the application now goes straight to immigration.
